Two cousins, with different views on art versus commerce, on their way up through the Atlanta rap scene; "Earnest 'Earn' Marks," an ambitious college drop-out and his estranged cousin Alfred (Brian Tyree Henry), who has found unexpected success releasing a single under the name and suddenly becomes a star. But if Earn and Alfred are on the cusp of greatness, they’re also on the cusp of danger: Guns, cops, and perpetual poverty nip at their heels.
