Just over five years ago, an even-tempered computer technician mutilated, killed and devoured a man after supposedly reaching an agreement over the Internet. The case of the so-called “cannibal of Rohtenburg”, one of the most controversial in the last decade, has now been used as inspiration for music video artist Martin Weisz’s first movie. A gruesome thriller starring a forceful Thomas Ketschmann in the role of the cannibal killer and Thomas Hubber in the role of the victim, whose abrupt narrative interweaves with a young American psychologist’s (Keri Russell) investigation of the incident. Banned in Germany just a few days after it premiered.
