The 14st edition of the Cannes Film Festival was held for 15 days, from 03 to May 18, 1961 in the city of Cannes in France, awarding the best films from a large part of the world. The president of the jury for the main competition was Jean Giono. The movie The Joy of Living, opened the festival.
