A play about happiness. On the face of it, Odette Toulemonde (Catherine Frot) has nothing to be happy about, but is; Balthazar Balsan (Albert Dupontel) has everything to be happy about, but isn’t! At forty-something, Odette has stumbled her way through life, with her delectable hairdresser son on one side, a troublesome teenage daughter on the other, and a whole host of skillfully outlined characters in the background. By day, she works on the cosmetics counter of a department store, while at night she sews feathers on Parisian cabaret costumes. She dreams about Balthazar Balsan, her favourite author, to whom, she believes, she owes her cheerful outlook.
Balsan, a handsome and successful author, makes an unexpected appearance in her life. A vibrant drama unfolds around two walking disasters with apparently nothing to bring them together…
