Veteran police detective Quentin Conners (Jason Statham) is not happy with his latest assignment, partnering up with a rookie cop Shane Dekker (Ryan Phillippe), as he soon realizes that Shane has a lot to learn about the art of investigation. Their first major assignment together has them up against brilliant thief, E. Lorenz (Wesley Snipes), who has masterminded a series of bank robberies and seems to know what the police are going to do before they do it.
