Film divided into three episodes, which reflects the life and opinions of Nanni Moretti. In "On my Vespa" is an approach to daily life in Rome during the month of August; in "Islands" he visits Gerardo, a friend who has been living in Lipari for eleven years; together they travel through other islands such as Salina, Stromboli, Panarea and Alicudi. In "Doctors" the director films his own chemotherapy and his journey through hospitals and specialists unable to diagnose the cause of his unbearable itching.
