Tange and Yasubei are the best swordmen of rival dojos. As Tange refuses to fight Yasubei to avenge the death of a few mates in a duel, he's expelled from his dojo. Yasubei is expelled too, in order to finally settle a peace between both schools. As honorable samurais, they end up helping each other, although they ignore that both of them are in love with the same girl.
