The film feels like two movies clumsily combined and riddled with plot holes. The least convincing element is director McCarthy, who attempts to generate some tension but fails to achieve much, leaving Mychael Danna's score to do most of the heavy lifting. The later plot twists become almost nonsensical once Akim enters the fray.
