This attraction is reciprocated and in a night of passion Victoria gives herself to Juan Pablo and becomes pregnant. Bernarda, his mother, discovers the truth and throws her out of the house without Juan Pablo knowing that a daughter is on the way.
Victoria, completely helpless and without a job, finds support in Antonieta, who helps her have her daughter, María. Together they work in Humberto Padilla's sewing shop. Victoria and Antonieta look out for the welfare of little Maria, leading a quiet life, without imagining what would soon happen. Padilla, totally crazed, outrages Victoria, forcing her to become his wife. Terrified, Victoria moves away from him and together with Antonieta they found their own small business to get ahead, but Bernarda reappears in their lives to get rid of little Maria, so without thinking about it, she runs over Victoria leaving Maria lost in the streets.
