This is an intriguing chamber piece set entirely within a villa, making it easy to envision as a well-constructed three-act play. As the film progresses, the narrative direction becomes quite clear; however, that doesn't detract from the fact that the movie culminates in a distinctly Hitchcockian finale. While all three leads are excellent, Jesse Plemons sustains the tension with a performance defined by increasingly erratic and improbable behavior.
