Maria works with her brother Angel in a family business, the industrial mill of the village, which he abandoned years ago. She, banished from everything, works methodically to survive while Ángel's friends contemplate with satisfaction María's return, savoring her vital failure. Angel hires Miquel, and between him and Maria a mutual admiration is born. The presence of the foreigner causes fear because Miquel has been in prison and there is something mystical about him capable of influencing others.
