Three years after the fall of Saddam Hussein’s regime, Ahmed, a 12-year old Kurdish boy, travels the dusty, deserted roads of northern Iraq with his grandmother. They are looking for Ahmed’s father, a soldier arrested by Saddam’s Republican Guard at the end of the Gulf War. On their search, they travel roads destroyed by bombs and meet other people in similar situations; all are travelling in search of someone, of a new life, of a future. In the course of these encounters they will find some unexpected allies, including a former soldier from the Republican Guard who could help them. Although Ahmed is too young to understand the importance of his journey, his life will be changed forever.
