Ariel Awards statuette
The statuette or trophy was designed by the Mexican sculptor Ignacio Asúnsolo. It consists of a piece in the form of a man in an attitude of taking flight.
The name "Ariel" is inspired by a series of short stories called "El Ariel" by the Uruguayan writer José Enrique Rodó that inspired generations of young Latin Americans in the first decades of the 20th century.
