In 1997 Spain, the strawberry-growing community of Rio Blanco tentatively accepts Moroccan seasonal workers settling in the abandoned village of Fuensanta. Although tensions between the two groups are noted by Sonia, head of an integration NGO, Father Angel, the local priest, and Safir, the imam, none of them suspect the true horror hidden within Fuensanta's ancient foundations. A secret lies buried there, poised to unleash the deepest, most primal fears, affecting everyone regardless of their beliefs or whom they pray to.
