• After the film went viral on TikTok in November 2020, the director warned potential viewers: "Do not watch the movie in the middle of the night. Do not watch it alone. And if you see the words 'photo number one' on the screen, you have about four seconds to turn it off before you start seeing things you might not want to see."

• A few years after the film's release, a Mexican production company contacted director Michael Goi to propose a new Spanish-language version with a Mexican cast. Goi rejected the offer because he did not want to return to such a dark theme.

• The director was inspired by the story of Amanda Todd and particularly the case of Ashley Pond and Miranda Gaddis. Their killer was Ward Weaver.

• The film was shot in 2006 with a budget between $30,000 and $35,000, but the production company Anchor Bay Films did not release it until five years later. Filming took place in Los Angeles, California, USA.

• Rachel Quinn (Megan Stewart) stated that the worst experience during filming was wearing the torture device on her head.
