Blonde (2022)

Blonde is a beautiful, fascinating, and at times, deeply moving experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. Director Andrew Dominik effectively unveils the darker side of both Marilyn Monroe and the Hollywood machine, expertly framing Monroe as two distinct personas struggling to reconcile with one another. Ana de Armas delivers a masterful performance, perfectly capturing this turbulent emotional roller coaster. While the film’s relentless and depressing narrative certainly won't appeal to everyone, and the storytelling occasionally feels disjointed, I found myself easily forgiving these flaws simply because nearly every scene is visually breathtaking.
